Are you planning to secure an unpaid internship this summer, but aren’t sure how to fund it? Northwestern undergraduate students can now apply to receive a $3,000 stipend through Northwestern Career Advancement’s Summer Internship Grant Program (SIGP).
Now in its 10th year, SIGP provides both financial support for unpaid summer internships as well as career development support from Northwestern Career Advancement. Applications are being accepted starting Monday, Feb. 13, 2017 through Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at 11:59 p.m. CST.
Who is eligible?
Current Northwestern full-time degree-seeking undergraduate students who will be:
-Enrolled through at least fall quarter of the following academic year in one of the following schools/colleges: Bienen, McCormick, Medill, School of Communication, SESP or Weinberg
-Pursuing a summer experience in a traditionally unpaid field or role
-Receiving 0.25 or less credit
-Not receiving any money from the employer or other grants/awards from Northwestern
-Securing a summer experience by May 30 (must meet the required 250 hours of work and have a supervisor)
-Please note: Previous SIGP recipients CAN reapply
Join an upcoming information session to learn more about SIGP
Each session will cover the same content. While strongly encouraged, attending an information session is not required to apply for SIGP.
