UR@NU ~ Time to start thinking about summer plans

Office of Undergraduate Research (UR@NU) Winter Break Announcement

Interested in going beyond what you learned in your textbooks? Whether you want to gain expertise in a topic related to your major/career goals, or you want to explore a new interest outside of your major/career goals, the world of RESEARCH is for you!

While there is so much you can do with research, we don’t expect you to know how to do it or even how to start. That’s why our office is dedicated to advising students on all aspects of the research process. Regardless of if you have a clear idea of what you would like to do, or if you just have interests that you want to pursue, we are here for you!

We know that now is a time that students start to think about summer plans. As we head into break, we encourage all students to take advantage of the time to explore their own interests and goals. To help with that process, there are some steps you can take below!

Some things you can do over winter break:

1. Look through the Global and Research Opportunities database for grants, labs, study abroad programs, and other things that interest you!

2. Watch the Grant Man YouTube series to see the story of students going through the process of creating projects for summer research grants

3. Attend a “What is Research?” workshop at the beginning of winter quarter to learn about what research can do for you and how to find a lab to do it in!

RSVP to save your spot and put it on your calendar!

What is Research?

Friday January 12th @ 12-1pm Kresge 2-410

Wednesday January 12th @ 5-6pm Annenberg G32

Finally, schedule an appointment to talk to an Undergraduate Research Advisor. No matter what stage you’re at, we are here to help!
