You can do a lot with a communications degree — and to help you build your portfolio of experiences and identify all the choices available to you, our EPICS office (External Programs, Internships, and Career Services) is here to support your career development every step of the way.
Expanding on our school’s extensive and highly successful national internship program, the EPICS staff serves as your primary contact point with companies that host and hire interns. We help facilitate your efforts to seek out, apply for, and obtain internships (when it is recommended safe to do so) as preparation for entering the real world — from the initial job-search process, to networking and building relationships, to daily functioning in communication-related fields. Most of the internships are available in Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles, but connections in other cities can also be arranged.
The EPICS office also in years past has offered workshops, seminars, career fairs, information sessions, entertainment panels, and guest speakers with alumni and friends of the school, in addition to administering many off-campus opportunities. These events and offerings may look different in the 2021-22 academic year.
