Sponsored by the School of Communication in cooperation with the London School of Economics (LSE) Department of Media & Communications, the Global Media & Communications Seminar (GMCS) features a combination of lectures both in Evanston and London as well as employer site visits that allow students to develop an understanding of and gain exposure to the global media and communications industries. This program allows students to engage with prominent industry professionals in the field and NU/LSE faculty in the classroom, all while exploring and touring the city of London. The GMC Seminar consists of two separate but connected parts: the seminar class taught in Evanston during the winter quarter, and the trip to London, England over Spring Break. Students will first learn about the Global Media & Communications industries in the classroom. Upon completion of the class, students travel alongside faculty and staff to London where they engage first-hand with the country, culture, and industries they studied.
Policies and Procedures:
SoC students may apply for the GMCS seminar each fall quarter. Those selected will be given permission numbers for the winter course.
