During their junior or senior year, SoC students will work with their academic advisor to determine how they plan to satisfy the SoC Capstone requirement. Commonly, students will register for CMN 398 SoC Capstone: a topic-based, post-graduation-focused course. In the capstones, instructors from the School of Communication, along with faculty, alumni, and professionals, leverage their expertise to guide students in exploring and navigating careers, further education, and other post-graduation opportunities within communication arts and sciences. Through collaborative efforts with instructors, peers, and guest speakers, students engage in discussions about trends, skills, and best practices of their chosen path. These courses encourage students to delve into their undergraduate journey and reflect on the knowledge, skills, values, and relationships they have acquired. Students will construct a comprehensive portfolio showcasing how their experiences align with the demands of their chosen post-graduation path, effectively demonstrating their qualifications and accomplishments.
